  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 hot pepper (Aji Amarillo from your Peruvian Food Experience!)
  • Cilantro leaves, chopped

Step by step method

Step 1

Slice the fish into thin strips and arrange them on a large platter.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper to make the marinade.

Step 3

Pour the marinade over the fish, making sure each strip is covered. Let the fish marinate for about 5 minutes.

While the fish is marinating, slice the avocado, red onion, and hot pepper.

Step 5

After 5 minutes, remove the fish from the marinade and arrange the slices on the platter.

Step 6

Garnish the tiradito with slices of avocado, red onion, and hot pepper. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro.

Step 7

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Peruvian tiradito!

Tips & variations

You can adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less hot pepper (Aji Amarillo) to the marinade.
